LONG STORY SHORT

OUTBREAK FANCLUB aims at gathering all of the Outbreak related knowledge & mysteries into one convenient place. If you've been a fan for a while, you might find seeking old information a difficult task since it's spread over several message boards, websites & private archives. Anguish no longer! Let the OBFC bust it's own ass finding those answers for you. Worry not over how empty the site is for now, it is far from ready.

If you've stumbled upon this site for random reasons. OUTBREAK is a Resident Evil Online game, now only available for Japan, which offered true cooperative, fully independent, online play for up to 4 players. What made it so unique, was that this one actually let you beat every single level in their entirety with partners , not against them.

Outbreak offered neither any level up nor any upgrading system. Players are entirely free to pick the difficulty level and strenght of their character as they please. Given 8 basic character classes, nearly 120 characters to chose from, combined with players of all skill level being able to play together, things rarely got dull.

HOW COME YOU NEVER HEARD OF THIS? Originally titled RESIDENT EVIL ONLINE, or ネットワークバイオハザード in it's native land, Outbreak was initialy develloped for Sony as a 20 levels, online PS2 HDD exclusive. Unfortunately, aside from the Japanese Sony branch, no other division wanted the HDD sold within their territory. And so, Outbreak was truncated into three 5 levels each DVD releases. Of which only 2 ever saw print due to declining sales thanks to the game being designed for a quickly discontinued product, and poor online support for the PS2.
